I Feed // You Eat // FOOD

// My practice has come full circle this year. I ended stage one of my degree with a salad I prepared for my tutor group. However, it was pretty much a copy of Rirkrit Tiravanija’s ‘Pad Thai’, but worse; like at school where you have to reproduce a painting that someone else did. I have to say in my defence, that I hadn’t heard of Tiravanija’s work before I did this; I thought I was being very profound in using food to bring people together and act as a stimulus to conversation and experience. Alas.

Most recently I have come back to food in my work ‘You Feed You Feed You // We Share Food’ – 2015, I served breakfast, lunch and dinner to two people in a Gallery Setting. They ate to an audience at a specific time for three instances in one day, of which was stated in the publication (via Facebook and Poster). Here are some photos that aren’t work. //

Living in a house of artists is generally great, although we currently have no living room because everyone else in the house paints large canvas’ and since our studio clear out it turned into a store cupboard, has it’s perks, we currently have a self organised and curated exhibition of our work up in the Fish Factory (Falmouth Wharf) open until Friday 22nd.This was a really fun experience and a great way to get showing work in an exhibition context.

Our Private View was last week and here are some pictures of the set up and the event.IMG_3720_1
